Welcome to My Eportfolio

Hi, my name is Sarah and I have loved writing ever since I was a young child. Let me prove it to you.
Below you will find a table of contents comprising samples of my writing dating back to 2nd grade, about 8 years ago. Each word in these samples holds a special place in my heart. A little bit of me and the evolution of my mind are represented in each of these works. I have started with my second grade assignment where I wrote a story about the Halloween characters in depicted in a picture on the assignment sheet, there was a fairy, a troll, a frog and a monster, and progressed through my California report done in 4th grade and my Nigeria report in 6th. Then to the article I wrote publicizing a youth square dance event I was running when I was in 7th all the way through now as a college student. All of these samples, though varied in content and in style, have one thing in common, I was really proud of them at the time they were written.
It is interesting to look back and realize how good I was at twisting almost any writing assignment into one bout something that was close to my heart. For instance, in every year of my formal education since 2nd grade, I have succeeded in squeezing in at least one essay about dolphins and/or whales, especially orcas. My diotomatious earth essay in 5th grade also shows the enthusiasm I have always felt in scientific areas. Both my marine mammal interest as well as my excitement towards science have stuck with me and now I am majoring in Marine Biology. Another big part of my life and future popped up in the article I wrote in 7th grade, square dancing.
Although writing is not part of my planned career, I know a passion for words has been living in my heart since I was very young.I will always be writing a little something here and there even if I am the only one ever to read it. I hope you enjoy the guide through my writing development. Comments are more than welcome. Comments are even suggested, but most of all have fun! Watch the progression that took years to develop in just a few minutes (or hours).

"the Halloween characters in the picture on the page" of what book?

I really like the idea of your ePortfolio-- it seems very selective, for being so broad. (Meaning, you're doing only your writing). It has a nice chronological order to it, too-- which makes it very organized. Bravo! I'll go read some of your papers and analysi now.
